Tinnitus Treatment

Tinnitus is the medical term for the perception of sound in one or both ears or in the head when no external sound is present. Tinnitus is subjective, meaning that it can only be heard by the individual. It is often referred to as “ringing in the ears,” although some people hear hissing, roaring, whistling, chirping, or clicking sounds. Tinnitus is not a disease in and of itself, tinnitus is actually a symptom that can be associated with multiple causes and aggravating co-factors, such as the following:

Hearing Loss
Ear and sinus infections
Diseases/disorders of the ear
Certain medications induce tinnitus
Jaw joint disfunction (eg. teeth grinding)
Stress and/or anxiety disorders
